DW BUREAU / MOHALI The Rayat Bahra University and the ICMR Centre for Innovation and Bio-design (CIBioD) of the PGI have signed a memorandum of understanding with a view to amalgamating their efforts by pooling their expertise and to form a nucleus for promoting research and development. The MoU was signed by Sahila Bahra, Vice-President (Academics) of the Rayat Bahra University, and Dr Varinder Garg, Principal Investigator, CIBioD. The MoU also aims to promote training by exploiting the unique expertise, intellectual and infrastructural capabilities of the two parties. The agreement has been signed with the two parties recognizing the importance of research and development, innovation and training in the areas related to medical devices, instruments, affordable healthcare, bio-design and other allied areas, and facilitating innovation and deployment of solutions. Sahila Bahra, Vice-President (Academics) of the Rayat Bahra University, expressed optimism that the MoU would go a long way in promotion of research and development particularly in the field of healthcare. Gurvinder Singh Bahra, Chancellor of the Rayat Bahra University, lauded the development as an important landmark that would give a boost to research and development. Dr Parvinder Singh, Vice-Chancellor of the Rayat Bahra University, who was present at the MoU signing ceremony, said that it was a big step forward in the promotion of research which has been a long cherished objective of the Rayat Bahra University.
