Cabinet Minister Dr. Baljit Kaur said that for the construction of Malout-Sri Muktsar Sahib road from National Highway 354, approval has been received from the Government of India regarding the felling of trees coming to that place. She said that the work of this road will start very soon. In this regard, approval has been received today from the Regional Empowered Committee of the Forest Department of the Central Government regarding the felling of trees coming to the road construction site. The minister said that the construction work of the road will be started soon after felling the trees in coordination with the forest department. She also informed that the road construction work will be completed within the stipulated period of 18 months after its commencement. Dr. Baljit Kaur said that development works are being conducted in the state to raise the standard of living of the people so that the people can get the benefit of basic facilities. The construction of Malout-Sri Muktsar Sahib road will greatly benefit the residents of the area as they have been demanding it for a long time.
