Last year on January 1, 2021, Haryana Chief Minister, Sh. Manohar Lal had taken a pledge to celebrate the year 2022 as Sushasan Antyodaya Utthan Varsh and within just nine months, he while reiterating his commitment not only ensured economic upliftment of the poorest families but has also brought these families into the mainstream. All this has been made possible due to Mukhyamantri Antyodaya Parivar Utthan Yojana (MMAPUY), which certainly is proving to be a boon for such families.
When the Chief Minister had resolved to celebrate the Antyodaya Utthan Varsh, hardly anyone would have thought that even such families would get self-employment opportunities.
As envisaged by Sh. Manohar Lal ensuring 'Sarvajan Hitay-Sarvajan Sukhay' following the principle of Antyodaya is the utmost priority of the State Government.
While, realizing the same, dedicated efforts are being made by the State Government to ensure the reach of public welfare services to grassroot levels in a fair and transparent manner.
Following the principles of 'Antyodaya', the Haryana government is committed to Social, Educational and Economic upliftment of all sections of the society apart from ensuring holistic development of the State.
In furtherance of the objective of upliftment of those at the bottom of the pyramid, a two-pronged approach was adopted by the government. Under which firstly the identification of actual needy families of Haryana through income verification under the flagship scheme of Parivar Pehchan Patra and secondly, ensuring poverty alleviation and financial inclusion of these families through an overarching approach. Consequently, MMAPUY was launched by the Chief Minister of Haryana as an umbrella scheme with the core objective of alleviating poverty by facilitating economic inclusion of the last mile citizens i.e., increasing the income of the poorest.
Antyodaya families having an annual family income is less than Rs. 1 lakh. The objective of this scheme is to increase their annual family income to Rs. 1.8 lakh per annum and beyond by linking them to various loan-based, skill-development and employment generation schemes.
