Member of Rogi Kalyan Samiti has demanded details of complete occupancy by COVID patients of the COVID Centre to be uploaded on the website of PGIMER. Ajay Jagga, Member, Rogi Kalyan Samiti, in a letter written to Amit Shah, Union Home Minister, and Secretary, Ministry of Home Affairs, has said that number of beds or percentage of beds, dedicated to residents of Chandigarh needs to be fixed as it is also being felt among residents of Chandigarh that all genuine occupancy is not being declared.
In the letter Jagga wrote that there should be declaration of the list of occupants on the website, for transparency and restoring the confidence of people of Chandigarh in PGIMER. "There is no doubt that as per act/rules the patients from places other than Chandigarh can also come here for medical treatment on referral basis, but it has special mention of Chandigarh, Punjab, Haryana and HP," he said. "The neighboring states, that is, Punjab, Haryana and Himachal has in most of the academic admissions, state services, employment etc, has kept a reservation for the Residents of State and residents of Chandigarh are not considered for that despite the fact that Chandigarh is claimed as their Capital," reads the letter.
