Seminar on Startup Hand Holding and Empowerment at DBU

The seminar featured Dr Deepak Kapoor, Senior Scientist at PSCST, as the keynote speaker, who provided insights into the startup culture in India. Dr Kapoor credited Prime Minister Narendra Modi for fostering the startup ecosystem, highlighting that one startup can generate employment for 12 individuals. Dr Amarpal Singh Walia, Joint Manager at Startup Punjab, discussed grassroots innovative schemes initiated by the Punjab Government. He emphasized the government s commitment to nurturing the Startup culture and transforming the state s economy from an agrarian society to a technology-driven one. Dr Rosy Bansal, Founder of Rosy Foods Millet Magic Creations, shared entrepreneurial wisdom, cautioning against blind faith. Dr Reetu Malhotra from Chitkara University s Department of Applied Sciences discussed the importance of having innovative ideas and utilizing new technology, especially for women aspiring to rise through entrepreneurship. She emphasized that entrepreneurship is about leadership rather than ownership. Dr Zora Singh, Chancellor of Desh Bhagat University, highlighted the shift from traditional knowledge and education systems to contemporary ones, stating the university s commitment to creating job providers rather than job seekers.
