Chief Minister Thakur Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu conducted a vigorous election campaign in his assembly constituency on Wednesday. The Chief Minister addressed street meetings in Kitpal, Bhawdan, Kalur, Kohla, Majhiyar, Kangu, Bataran, Chiliyan, Jaladi, Bela, Nadaun and Sera. He said that sellable MLAs are contesting elections like withered flowers. He sold the hand of Congress and bought the flower of BJP. Even BJP workers are not accepting them.
BJP has no contribution in the development of Nadaun. The Congress Party and I have taken this region to great heights. Today Nadaun's name is on the national and international map. Development work was stalled in Nadaun for the last five years, former Chief Minister Jairam Thakur did not take care of my area. BJP did not bring any new project, the previously approved development works were also stopped.
The Chief Minister said that for the first time the sellout MLAs were engaged for a month to remove the Congress Chief Minister from Lower Himachal. They played a lot with money power, but those who have the power of the people, praise and blessings of the party high command cannot be removed by sellouts. No matter how hard BJP and former Chief Minister Jairam try, the Congress government will complete its five-year term. The beautiful dreams of BJP's Mungeri Lal will never be fulfilled.
Thakur Sukhwinder Singh said that BJP MP Anurag Thakur is not even ashamed of lying about Jolsapar Medical College. They should correct their information. I, when I was the Congress President, had got this college approved on March 3, 2014 with a budget of Rs 179 crore. BJP government was formed at the center in May 2014. The then Health Minister Vipin Parmar has placed all the records related to the approval of the college on the table of the Assembly. Anurag should collect facts related to the medical college from the assembly and through RTI. Anurag has also been cheating people regarding the railway line for 10 years.
The Chief Minister said that I organized the international river rafting competition in Nadaun. Indoor stadium is being built in Kharid Maidan, new shopping complex will be built in Nadaun. Work is underway on a plan to provide RO water to every home. Electric bus depot is being built in Mowalghat. Tourism hotels are being built, work of construction of bridges and roads worth crores of rupees is going on. Provision of funds has been made for these in the budget. Our government secured the old age of its employees by giving them OPS. A scheme to give pension of Rs 1500 to women has been started. 2.37 women are getting Rs 1500. 1500 have come into the accounts of all the women of Lahaul Spiti. Children of widowed women will be given free education for 27 years. Elderly people above 70 years of age are being provided free treatment facility up to Rs 25 lakh. Apart from this, the government gave MSP on milk and increased the daily wages of MNREGA workers by Rs 60.
The Chief Minister said that the fight on June 1 is between manpower and money power. Vote for Satpal Raizada for Lok Sabha and wherever by-elections are being held, tell your relatives to vote for Congress. Your vote for Lok Sabha will go to the Chief Minister. Earlier the people of Nadaun used to vote for me as MLA, now they vote for the Chief Minister. The state government will work for three and a half years, no stone will be left unturned in development. The former Chief Minister should keep daydreaming, his dream of becoming the Chief Minister by toppling the government will not be fulfilled.
