Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann on Tuesday envisioned that Sarkar Vyapaar milnis will act as a catalyst to put state on trajectory of high economic growth with the active participation of traders and industrialists.
Addressing the gathering during Sarkar Vyapaar Milni here today, the Chief Minister said that this is an interactive program aimed at the well being of the people especially the traders. However, he bemoaned that earlier the state governments never bothered about holding such programs for the welfare of people. Rather, Bhagwant Singh Mann said that these leaders confined them in the walls of huge palaces and dictated their own decisions to people without bothering about common man.
The Chief Minister exhorted the people of the state to elect the Member of Parliaments (MPs) that perform and not those who remained tightlipped when the interests of the state were robbed. He said that people before casting their vote they must think that where their MP was when Punjab was robbed of its rights adding that the people should deliberate that why the MP was mum when industry of Punjab was ruined and the farmer of the state was agitating against draconian laws. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that these leaders who had remained Mum at crucial times of the state and its people don't deserve their votes and they should be shown the door so that committed and dedicated people are elected to Parliament.
The Chief Minister said that every single penny from the state exchequer is being spent by the Punjab government on the well being of the people. Bhagwant Singh Mann called upon people to ensure victory of the party on all the 13 Lok Sabha seats so that he can effectively combat the discriminatory policies of the Union government. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that the hands of AAP needs to strengthen by giving 13-0 to the party for continuing the pace of development adding that these 13 MPs, when elected, will give fillip to the development and progress of the state.
The Chief Minister said that under the visionary leadership of Arvind Kejriwal, AAP has became a national party just because we believe in politics of work. He said that the party does not believe in politics of hatred due to which people are supporting it in a big way and the numbers of MP, MLAs and other elected representatives of party are increasing. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that the cavalcade of the AAP will increase in coming days too as people from all sections of society will support the party in ensuing Lok Sabha Polls.
The Chief Minister said that the BJP has made mockery of democracy by undermining all the constitutional values and circumventing the verdict of people. He said that in the states where the verdict of people is against them these people try to topple the governments by purchasing the elected representatives. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that this is intolerable as it is a humiliation of the every vote of the people.
The Chief Minister said that two people had ruled the state in last 25 years but none of them had bothered about the well being of the common man.
