Rationalization to fix financial situation of Pbi Varsity

The meeting was attended by Vice-Chancellor Prof Arvind, Dean of Academic Affairs Prof Ashok Kumar Tiwari, Registrar Prof Navjot Kaur, and Finance Officer Dr Pramod Agarwal. The Punjab government sought details of all university employees. During the discussion, the financial management of the university was a key point, and the rationalization of employee deployment was considered. It was discussed how to proceed with the rationalization process if there is a surplus of employees. They can either be reassigned within the university or transferred to another institution under the Punjab government. University authorities will prepare a detailed report on this matter. Registrar Prof Navjot Kaur shared this information, stating that further action will be taken by the university as per the instructions of the Punjab government. She emphasized that the aim is to reduce the financial burden of the university and address the understaffing issues in other public institutions of the government. She added that the employees interests will be taken into consideration throughout this process. Prof Arvind also mentioned that further action will be taken in accordance with the instructions of the Punjab government, ensuring the protection of the employees interests. During the meeting Finance Minister Harpal Singh Cheema commended the increase in admissions to undergraduate courses at Punjabi University, stating that it is the responsibility of the government to support the growth of Punjabi University in every possible way, including administrative reforms.
