Over 500 vaccinated at Pbi Varsity camp

Following Punjab government guidelines, a fifth free COVID (Covishield) vaccination camp was organized by Bhai Ghaniya Health Centre, Punjabi University here today in collaboration with the office of Civil Surgeon at Waris Bhawan on the University Campus.
The camp was inaugurated by Dean of Academic Affairs Dr. B. S. Sandhu. About 500 persons above 18 years of age which included students, staff, faculty and residents were vaccinated in the camp.
District Epidemiology officer Dr. Sumit, Distt. Immunization Officer Dr. Venu Goyal and Nodal Officer Dr Parneet Kaur were present on the occasion.
Vice-Chancellor Prof. Arvind conveyed a message that offline mode of classes have been started and so vaccination is being done, he expressed happiness and satisfaction about the measures taken to combat Covid at Punjabi University.
In particular he appreciated the proactive initiatives of the Health Centre and its Incharge SMO Dr. Regina Maini and the efforts of the District Health Administration, Civil Surgeon, and his team.
Dr. B. S. Sandhu , Dean of Academic Affairs, said that every person above 18 years age must get vaccinated at the earliest. Dr. Varinder Kumar Kaushik, Registrar, appreciated the efforts made by the Health Centre during the Covid pandemic
Dr. Regina Maini, SMO Bhai Ghaniya Health Centre, said as per the guidelines issued by the Punjab government the vaccination of the university staff, employees and faculty has been done in collaboration with Civil Surgeon.
She thanked the Civil Surgeon and his team for organizing the camp. She thanked the staff of the Health Centre for their cooperation. She said this was the fifth free Covishield vaccination camp.
She said this camp was planned under the leadership of Vice-Chancellor Prof. Arvind who took personal interest in motivating the staff and faculty of the university to get the vaccination done. She thanked Prof Arvind for encouraging and helping in getting the vaccination done in the university. She also thanked the district administration and civil surgeon office for cooperating.
