Anup Gupta, Mayor, Chandigarh on Tuesday distributed these kits among four zones including Fire Station Sector-17, 32, 38, and Manimajra. After inspection of the rescue tool kits, the Mayor said that these tool kits consisting of Hydraulic Battery Operated and Petrol Driven Cutting, Spreading and Rams have been included in the Fire Rescue Services department at Rs. 3 Crores. He said that the introduction of these Rescue Tool Kits marked a major step towards strengthening the Fire and Rescue Services in the city. Comprising a total of 28 Units, these tools will prove to be invaluable in assisting firefighters in dealing with contingencies arising from road accidents, Lift Rescue and building collapses etc. Recognizing the importance of equipping the fire service personnel with the necessary tools and resources to efficiently carry out their duties, the Mayor said that the rescue tool kits consist of state-of-the-art equipment designed to aid in extricating individuals trapped in vehicles, as well as in rescuing individuals from collapsed structures.
