Asserting that chief minister Bhagwant Mann had appointed IG Chhina as the new SIT head with the sole purpose of presenting a manipulated charge sheet in the false NDPS Act registered against him by the previous Congress government, Mr Bikram Majithia said the government feels the IG will submit a challan as per the government wishes because he is already being probed with respect to the security breach during the Prime Minister s visit and a guilty report would invite major punishment. The IG is also retiring this year and the government feels it can manipulate him in the same way in which the previous Congress government had manipulated DGP S Chattopadhya to register a false case against me by handing over charge of the State Police chief to him for twenty two days . Mr Bikram Majithia said the chief minister had fallen back on IG Chhina because former SIT head DIG S Rahul had refused to submit a challan in the drug case as per the wishes of the AAP government. This is wrong even on administrative grounds as a police officer who is on the verge of retirement cannot be given charge of important inquiries . Asserting that this witch hunt would boomerang on the chief minister as he had full faith in the judiciary, Mr Majithia also reminded the AAP government that an SIT formed by the court including senior officers ADGP Ishwar Singh, ADGP Nageshwar Rao and DGP V Neerja had not mentioned him in any of the ten challans presented by them in the court. Even now a new SIT head has been appointed as the SIT did not present a challan in the drug case for the last one and a half years despite pressure to implicate me . The SAD leader said earlier during the three month chief ministership of Charanjit Singh Channi three DGPs had refused to register a false drug case against him. Even then the Congress government gave charge of the top post to DGP S Chattopadhya under a quid pro quo arrangement resulting in a case under the NDPS Act being registered against me immediately after his appointment .
