India Intl science festival in Faridabad from Jan 17-20

The Steering Committee for IISF 2024 met for the first time on November 1 under the chairmanship of Union Minister of State for Science and Technology, Dr Jitendra Singh. The Haryana Chief Minister, Mr Manohar Lal is chief patron of The Steering Committee for IISF 2024. While participating in the meeting, the Haryana Higher Education and Transport Minister, Mr. Mool Chand Sharma said that this grand event will spotlight international research and advancements in the field of science, fostering insightful discussions and knowledge exchange. In the meeting, Haryana Chief Secretary, Mr. Sanjeev Kaushal, virtually assured the committee of the state government s commitment to ensuring the success of IISF 2024. Mr. Kaushal emphasized the strategic location of Faridabad and said that he plans to involve universities in the National Capital Region (NCR) to ensure a robust participation from Haryana and neighboring regions. He also stressed the importance of encouraging greater participation from students and women. The Chief Secretary said that the state government will utilize social media extensively to engage the youth and amplify their involvement in this festival. The Haryana State Council for Science, Innovation and Technology (HSCSIT) has actively participated in previous IISF editions, showcasing innovative exhibitions from Haryana s scientific establishments. The upcoming IISF will be hosted jointly by the Department of Biotechnology Translational Health Science and Technology Institute (Regional Centre DBT-THSTI) and the Department of Biotechnology for Biotechnology (DBT-RCB) in Faridabad, he added. Since its inception in 2015, IISF has been a powerful platform fostering engagement and curiosity about science in society. It aims to empower people with knowledge, self-confidence, and pride in India s scientific progress through its Mega Science and Technology Exhibition, encouraging a meaningful life through scientific engagement.
