DW BUREAU / Chandigarh Haryana Government has re-constituted the Anti-Corruption High Powered Committee under the Chairmanship of Chief Secretary Sanjeev Kaushal. The meeting of this committee will be held on monthly basis. Giving information in this regard, an official spokesperson said that Advocate General, Haryana will be special invitee of the committee.The other members of the committee are Additional Chief Secretary (ACS) and FCR, ACS Home & Administration of Justice, Principal Secretary to Chief Minister, Director General of Police, Director General State Vigilance Bureau, ADGP CID, Director Prosecution. Whereas Secretary Vigilance will act as its member secretary of the committee. He said that this Committee will act as Apex body for finalizing tactics, framing policies and to implement anti-corruption measures. It will review the progress of applications pending with the competent authorities for prosecution sanction under Section 19 of the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988 and also the progress of applications pending with the competent authorities for sanction under Section 17A of the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988. He said that the committee will review the progress of investigations conducted by the State Vigilance Bureau and Divisional Vigilance Bureaus into the offences alleged to have been committed under the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988 or offences with which a public servant may, under the Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973, be charged at the same trial. The committee will also review the cases in which challan has been submitted in the court in time with reference to total number of FIRs registered under the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988, rate of conviction and improvement of performance in court including improvement in quality of investigation, enquiries pending with CM Flying Squad and Monitoring thereof, enquiries pending with Chief Vigilance Officers and enquiries pending with District Vigilance Committees.
