Hry Govt has announces OTS scheme 2022 for indebted farmers

Haryana Government has announced One Time Settlement (OTS) scheme 2022 for the indebted farmers / members of cooperative credit consumers. Cooperative Minister, Dr. Banwari Lal said in a press conference today that Chief Minister, Sh. Manohar Lal has announced a one-time settlement scheme 2022 for the indebted members of District Agriculture and Land Development Bank (Land Mortgage Bank).
In the scheme announced for the loanee members of the District Primary Co-operative Agriculture and Rural Development Bank, 100 percent rebate in the overdue interest will be provided mainly in the loan account of the deceased borrowers till March 31, 2022.
For this, 100% waiver of overdue interest will be provided by the heirs of the deceased borrower on depositing the entire principal amount in the loan account and penalty interest and other expenses will also be waived.
Cooperation Minister said that the total number of dead loan holders of the bank is 17,863 whose total amount is Rs. 445.29 crore including principal amount of Rs. 174.38 crore and interest of Rs. 241.45 crore and panel interest of Rs. 29.46 crore.
Apart from this, 50 percent interest will also be given to all other overdue borrowers under OTS Scheme-2022 and their penalty interest and other expenses will also be waived. This scheme will be applicable on all types of loans of the bank.
According to the scheme, if the loan holder could not pay his loan due to any reason and was declared a defaulter by the bank on March 31, 2022 he can take advantage of this scheme.
It may be mentioned that a total of Rs. 2,069.78 crore is overdue towards 73,638 overdue borrowers of 19 District Primary Co-operative Agriculture and Rural Development Banks working in the state, in which principal amount is Rs. 844.91 crore and interest is Rs.1,111.80 crore and penalty of Rs. 113.07 crore is included. OTS Scheme-2022 has been implemented by the government again for such defaulters to pay
their loans.
The Cooperation Minister said that this scheme is for a limited time, so consumers can take advantage of the OTS scheme on the lines of 'First Come-First Serve'.
District Primary Co-operative Agriculture and Rural Development Bank and its 70 branches established at tehsil level can be contacted for taking advantage of the scheme and for detailed information.
He said that even before this, interest waiver scheme was implemented by the government in the year 2019, under which Rs. 605.22 crore was recovered by the bank and under this scheme, an amount of Rs. 181.88 crore was waived off of 21,881 loanee members as interest.
