category Regional, shimla, , tags Regional, shimla, , DW BUREAU shimla The Himachal Pradesh government is developing an automated online system to scrutinize building plans and grant construction permission, said Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu on Tuesday. A fully automated online building permission system is being developed to enable real time scrutiny of building drawings through auto scrutiny features, ensuring efficiency and accuracy in the approval process, said Sukhu in a statement. The system is being developed with the assistance of the Department of Digital Technology and Governance for all the 61 urban local bodies (ULBs), 35 notified Special Area Development Authority and 56 planning areas in the state, he added. Presiding over a meeting of the Urban Development Department, Sukhu stressed on making all the essential services like property tax, bill payments, notices, all types of no objection certificate (NOC) and permissions online and said that it would also help curb corruption within the system. The chief minister said that the calculation and collection of property tax in all the ULBs would be conducted through an online platform. Reviewing the current water supply issue in Shimla, he also issued directions to construct a dam on Giri river to address the problem of silting and said that design of the dam would be prepared by the power corporation. Giri supplies around 15 million litres per day water which is about one-third of total water supplied to Shimla in a day. Casualty wings will be upgraded with more staff: CM Casualty wings of medical colleges will have more workforce, including doctors, nurses and other supporting staff, and will be upgraded into an Emergency Medicines Department , Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu said. Presiding over a meeting of the health department here late Monday evening, Sukhu said that a proposal to strengthen the casualty wings would be placed before the cabinet for its approval shortly, a statement issued here on Tuesday said. Doctors and paramedical staff would work in shifts of eight hours each as part of the Emergency Medicines Department , the chief minister said. Purchase of all medicines and medical equipment would be done through Himachal Pradesh Medical Services Corporation (HPMSC) to ensure competitive prices and timely supply to various health institutions. He also reiterated that robotic surgery would be provided in all medical colleges of the state in a phased manner.
