Haryanavi cuisine wins hearts of foreign delegates to G-20 meet

A grand programme was organized at the historic Yadavindra Garden in Pinjore on Friday night, in which the foreign guests were introduced to the culture of Haryana and the country. Chief Minister Manohar Lal, Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Minister, Sh. J.P. Dalal and Development and Panchayats Minister, Sh. Devender Babli along with senior officials also attended the programme. The event was organized to acquaint the delegates with the tradition and rich art culture of India s Atithi Devo Bhava and Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam. The Yadavindra Garden was drenched in colorful lights and the foreign guests were welcomed by Haryanvi artists dressed in traditional clothes by playing drums at the main gate. After this, the guests were welcomed by applying Tilak and with traditional folk songs. The main attraction of the programme was the cultural programme. The artists effectively demonstrated Haryanvi folk style while presenting traditional folk dances Lur, Ghoomar, Dhamaal, Phag, Falgun etc, associated with various festivals and other occasions in the state. The foreign guests also posed for group photographs with the Chief Minister, Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Minister, Development and Panchayats Minister and senior officials. Chief Minister Manohar Lal and Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Minister, Sh. JP Dalal felicitated the representatives of G-20 member countries. During the entire programme, the Chief Minister was seen in a unique style. He also interacted with the artists and encouraged them.
