After presiding over the 26th Board of Directors (BoD) meeting of Haryana Rail Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited (HRIDC) the Chief Secretary, Mr. Sanjeev Kaushal who is also chairman of the corporation said that to spearhead this initiative, a dedicated committee has been instituted, comprising officials from pivotal departments, including Town and Country Planning (TCP), Public Works Buildings and Roads (PW B R), Industries and Commerce, Haryana State Industrial and Infrastructure Development Corporation (HSIIDC), Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority (GMDA), Haryana Mass Rapid Transport Corporation (HMRTC), and Haryana Infrastructure and Industrial Development Corporation Limited (HIHMCL). He said that the Kurukshetra elevated track project, with a budget exceeding Rs. 225 crore, is slated to be completed by February 2024. It was apprised in the meeting that the State Government is currently undertaking a feasibility study for the Sirsa-Chandigarh Rail Connectivity, specifically focusing on the construction of a new rail line from Narwana to Uklana. Simultaneously, progress is being made on the construction of a new chord line at Kurukshetra, covering an approximate distance of 10 km. Additionally, the feasibility study for the Kaithal Elevated Track, which includes the assessment of Kaithal Station, is actively underway. During the meeting, Managing Director, HRIDC, Mr. Rajesh Agarwal apprised that a delegation from the Asian Development Infrastructure Bank visited to assess the progress of the Haryana Orbital Rail Corridor (HORC) project, encompassing a new 126 km Broad Gauge Double line with High Rise Overhead Equipment (OHE) in the state. The delegation expressed satisfaction with the advancements made in Part-A of the project. Part-A of the project, with a total project cost of INR 2077 Crores (approximately 278 Million USD), spans 29.50 km in the main line from Dhulawat to Badsa and includes 11.40 km of connectivities to the Indian Railway Network. These connectivities incorporate links to the Delhi-Rewari line at Patli and the Garhi Harsaru-Farukhnagar line at Sultanpur. The Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) has sanctioned a loan of Rs. 128 million USD for Part A of the project, signifying a significant financial endorsement for its successful execution.
