Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini on Thursday gave a big gift to the residents of Fatehabad district by inaugurating and laying the foundation stone of development works worth more than Rs 313 crore.
At a 'Pragati rally' in Fatehabad, the Chief Minister made a series of announcements and announced a sum of Rs 10 crore for development works in the district. He said a wildlife treatment centre will be built in Badopal. As per the government policy, the electricity poles installed in the middle of the roads and the wires passing over the houses will be removed free of cost by the local corporation. In various villages where voltage is low, a big transformer will be installed by the Electricity Department.
The Chief Minister also announced that a boosting station will be built in Ward number 13-14, if land is available. The mini bypass of Fatehabad will also be renovated. He said the committee constituted by the government is considering making Bhuna a sub-division and Bhattu a tehsil, and as soon as the criteria are met, this work will be completed.
Nayab Singh Saini said the presence of such a large number of people in this rally is a symbol of their support and faith in the works and policies of the government. He said the public has seen the work of many governments in the state after the formation of Haryana, but regionalism dominated in terms of development. But the present government has done equal development in every region of the state with the spirit of 'Haryana Ek-Haryanvi Ek'.
"We have risen above the district, city and constituency and looked at the entire state with one vision. Rising above regionalism and nepotism, we have worked for the progress and prosperity of the entire Haryana," he said.
Taking a dig at the Opposition, the Chief Minister said those who are demanding an account of the 10-year tenure of the current state government should look into their own conscience. Their government used to work in commission mode, while our government works in mission mode. Corruption was at its peak during their rule, only those who had recommendations and money used to get government jobs whereas the present government worked to change the system in the state and gave government jobs to the youth on merit.
"Our government has closed the shops of such middlemen who used to do brokerage in getting government jobs or getting government work done for people. We have made the state a developed state by freeing it from fear, corruption, nepotism and regionalism," he said.
The Chief Minister took a dig at the Opposition and said those people whose own records were poor, who gave birth to corruption, nepotism and left the people to fend for themselves, were today asking us for accountability.
He said the account of our tenure is given by those youths who have got government jobs without any expenses and slips. The poor person whose treatment is being done free of cost today is giving the government's report.
The farmer in whose account the amount of crop insurance and compensation is going directly is giving the government's report. The elderly are also giving the government's report as they do not have to run around offices to get their pension. Their pension is being given while they are sitting in their homes. Under the previous government, the elderly had to run around offices for 6-6 months to get their pension.
Nayab Singh Saini said during the reign of the Congress, the condition of Fatehabad city was like a remote village. The roads were broken, the drinking water system was in a shambles and there was shortage of electricity. Waterlogging used to happen during rain. In the last 10 years, the government has constantly accelerated the wheel of development here.
