Dushyant highlights challenges in field of journalism

These changes have brought forth both new opportunities and challenges for journalists. He also stressed the importance of learning in the field itself and suggested that journalists should practice their craft with transparency and balance. The Deputy Chief Minister made these remarks during his address at the state-level convention and seminar organized by the Chandigarh and Haryana Journalist Union in Panchkula today. The event focused on the challenges faced by the media was presided over by Rajya Sabha MP Kartikeya Sharma. In the function, Deputy Chief Minister honored the owners of those local newspapers which are continuously publishing. These include Narendra Bhatia City Media Ambala, Surendra Bhatia Palpal, Devendra Uppal Pathak Paksha, Arun Bhatia Jagat Kranti, Kailash Jain Arth Prakash, Shri Bhagwan Vashishtha Dainik Chetna, Anil Arya Gurgaon Today, Rajesh Kumar Samachar Kyari, Shrikant Arya Naya Lokyukta, Yadram Bansal Gurgaon Mail, Rupesh Bansal Saptijya, Ekanti Garg Hind Janpath, Rishi Saini Nabh Chhor. The Deputy Chief Minister said that the future presents a multitude of challenges in the era of information. It is paramount to scrutinize news from every angle to ensure that the truth reaches the general public. He noted that social media will continue to play a significant role in the future, and therefore, maintaining quality is imperative. Chautala recalled his early days as an MP when he inaugurated a press club in Hisar, marking a humble beginning. Subsequently, a fully-equipped media center was established in Sirsa. He also mentioned that the Information, Public Relations and Languages Department is actively working on opening district-level media centers to better serve journalists. In the light of these developments, he encouraged journalists to persevere with unwavering honesty as they progress in their profession. The Deputy Chief Minister highlighted recent government initiatives, including the raise in journalists pensions from Rs 10,000 to Rs 15,000 per month, as well as the provision of various benefits for journalists.
