DW BUREAU / Chandigarh Taking stock of the preparations for the G-20 summit to be held in Amritsar city, the Local Government Minister held a meeting with the district officials. In this meeting, he instructed the officials to complete all the development works related to G20 by the end of February month. Giving more information in this regard, Local Government Minister, Dr.Nijjar said that the G-20 summit is going to be held in the holy city of Amritsar in March 2023. Presidents and Prime Ministers of major countries and other international delegates will also attend this G-20 summit. He said that it is a matter of great pride for the state that this international level event is going to be held in Punjab. Dr.Nijjar reviewed the development works related to the beautification of Amritsar and has given instructions to the officials related to this work that No stone will be left unturned for the development of Amritsar city in connection with the G-20 Summit. The minister also told the officials that Amritsar city of the state has to be presented on the world map on behalf of India, so any official who neglects the development works for beautification of Amritsar will not be spared. He also asked the officials to ensure that whatever development works are being carried out, they should be of good quality. He said that these development works are not only for the event, but are being done according to the needs of the people. He also instructed the official to present Punjabi culture on them to beautify the places of the city which are along the roads or under the elevated roads. (editor@dailyworld.in)
