DLSA organizes camp to mark Legal Services Day

In continuation of observance of "Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav" to commemorate 75th years of India's independence, a legal services camp was organized in Government Mahindra College, by the District Legal Services Authority on the eve of National Legal Services Day.
Rajinder Aggarwal, District and Sessions Judge-cum-Chairman District Legal Services Authority, while addressing the gathering, said that the objective of conducting this legal services camp is to spread awareness about free legal services and other services being provided under the Legal Services Authorities Act, 1987.
Further, Aggarwal informed that the purpose of this legal services camp is also to identify and to extend benefits of welfare schemes of Central and State Government to those who are entitled. District & Sessions Judge also thrown light on the importance of National Legal Services' Day and about the categories of persons who are entitled for free legal services.
Addressing the gathering, Deputy Commissioner Sandeep Hans spoke about various welfare schemes being run by the State and Central Governments and asked the people to get the benefits out of the said schemes.
Speakers from other departments also addressed the gathering regarding the welfare schemes being run by their departments and encouraged the people to get benefit of these welfare schemes.
Making people aware about all NALSA schemes Parminder Kaur, CJM/Secretary, District Legal Services Authority, said that during this campaign, 200 pension cases (167 old age pension & 33 widow pension) have been sanctioned and delivered to the beneficiaries on the spot. Further, 11 Labour Cards have been issued on the spot to the workers. Under the 5 Marla plot scheme, as many as 11 sanction letters were issued to the beneficiaries, 30 Ayushman Cards were prepared on the spot by the Health Department and issued to the beneficiaries. A medical camp was also organized by DLSA Patiala in coordination with the Health Department in which ENT, Eye, Orthopedics, Gynecologist, medicine and other health check ups of 150 people were done.
