DBU establishes Centre for Punjabi Language, Folklore

In commemoration of this milestone, an expert lecture titled Dr. M.S. Randhawa: Founder of Folklore Studies and the Architect of Modern Punjab was organized in the Rabaab Conference Hall. Chancellor Dr Zora Singh applauded Desh Bhagat University s commitment to the promotion of Punjabi language and culture, aligning with the Punjab government s initiative. He acknowledged the efforts of the organizers and speakers in paying tribute to Dr. M.S. Randhawa s legacy. Director Prof. Dr Devinder Kumar highlighted the immense contributions of Dr. M.S. Randhawa to Punjab s cultural heritage and emphasized the holistic approach fostered by the Faculty of Social Sciences and Languages through various dedicated initiatives. Dr. Dharminder Singh, coordinator of the Centre for Punjabi Language, Folklore, and Culture, provided a profound exploration of Dr. M.S. Randhawa s life and contributions. He underlined Dr. Randhawa s vision for a modern Punjab rooted in cultural heritage and outlined the Centre s contributions to promoting the Punjabi language, culture, and folklore.
