category Regional, mandi gobindgarh, , tags Regional, mandi gobindgarh, , DW BUREAU MANDI GOBINDGARH Dr Rahul Dhiman, Assistant Professor in the Fine Arts Department of Desh Bhagat University, bagged the National Award at the 35th All India Lokmanya Tilak Art Exhibition 2023 at Pune. He was honoured with Rs 20,000 in cash and a momento at the award ceremony held at Lokmanya Tilak Vidyapeeth in Pune. An exhibition was also organised at this award ceremony, in which over 500 artists from all over the country sent their artwork, of which 150 were selected for the exhibition. Out of the selected works, 17 artists were given the National Award. Dr Rahul Dhiman was given the National Award for his art work, Self Discovery . He created this art work with a woodcut technique. Sandeep Singh Gill, Deputy Commissioner of Pune, and Dr Deepak Tilak, Head of the Tilak Memorial Trust, presented him with the honour. Prior to this, Dr Dhiman also represented Punjab and Desh Bhagat University through Punjabi Folk Dance in Bharat Parv 2023, held at Red Fort in Delhi from January 26 to January 31. He has won numerous regional and national prizes for his work in Punjabi traditional dance and fine arts. Chancellor of the Desh Bhagat University Dr Zora Singh congratulated him on this achievement and wished him all the best for the future. (editor dailyworld.in)
