category Regional, chandigarh, , tags Regional, chandigarh, , DW BUREAU Chandigarh Haryana Public Health and Cooperation Minister Dr. Banwari Lal said that schemes are being implemented on a large scale to provide clean drinking water and better sewerage drainage to the citizens of the state. The main objective of the government is to provide good governance by fulfilling the problems of the people on a priority basis. The Public Health and Cooperative Minister said this while addressing a programme organized here today. The Public Health Minister said that under the Jal Jeevan Mission, the target of providing tap water to every household has been achieved in Haryana. Laboratories have been set up at district level to ensure the quality of water. Along with this, kits have also been made available to the villagers to check the purity of drinking water. He said that in order to solve the problem of drinking water in the villages of South Haryana, especially during summer season, necessary arrangements have been made on a large scale along with construction of new water houses for water storage capacity so that adequate supply of water can be ensured. An amount of Rs. 143 crores have been spent to ensure water till the canal tail end. Due to which apart from water houses, water facilities have also been made available for agriculture.
