Barsat pays tribute to 10th Sikh Guru and his family

Punjab General Secretary of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Harchand Singh Barsat paid homage to the supreme sacrifices of Tenth Guru, Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji, Mata Gujri Ji and four Sahibzades on the occasion of Shaheedi Week. In a statement issued from the party office on Monday, the AAP leader said that tenth Sikh Guru and his entire family sacrificed their lives for the protection of humanity and religion, which set an example for the whole world. By raising his voice against oppression and giving religious freedom more importance than his life, Guru ji gave a message to humanity to fight and injustice and suppression.
Harchand Singh Barsat said that today it is need of hour that we make our children aware of the history of 10th Guru and four Sahibzades who gave supreme martyrdom at a young age. He said that the father of the Khalsa panth sacrificed the whole family for the humanity and today we should pay our respects to him and also take a pledge to always raise our voice for the honor of every religion and the freedom of the people.
The BJP state leadership led by Ashwani Sharma State Party President paid their respects at the Fatehgarh Sahib gurdwara today at on going one week Jor Mela commemorating the supreme sacrifice of the Sahebzadas.
Speaking on this occassion Sharma said that the courage and sacrifice of sons of Guru Gobind Singh saved the country from conversions. Nine years and seven years old Zorawar Singh and Fateh Singh refused the governor of Sirhind who had given them the bait that if they converted to Islam there lives will be saved. However the brave sahibzadads refused to cover down and were brutally killed. Recalling the history of bravery of this area Sharma said that the land of Punjab of five rivers has stood like a firm wall to all invasions and crusades since ancient times. We are proud, honoured and humbled that we live on this land. Reasoned Sharma.
The rich history of exemplary courage of the family of Guru Gobind Singh ji is written in golden words . " The sacrifices of the Guru and his sons saved the people from forced conversions" History is replete with the stories of gallantry and today the BJP state leadership took the initiative to come and pay our deepest respects and gratitude to the sahebzadas sacrifices. I am sure the younger generation should imbibe the courage of our Guru's and live in peace and harmony. Said Sharma. The high level delegation included Mr Som Prakash Union Minister of Commerce, Mr Mantri Srinasulu organising Secretary, Mr Kewal Dhillion, Mr Arvind Khanna Jai Inder Kaur , Mr Jeevan Gupta, Mr Rajesh Bhagga, Ms Mona Jaiswal , and Mr Bikramjit Singh Cheema. All the state office bearers were also present.

Readers' Club of College Library Goswami Ganesh Dutta Sanatan Dharma College, Chandigarh organized a rich collection of books and presentations at an Exhibition cum Talk today, to commemorate Veer Bal Diwas. The Digital Exhibition showcased the remarkable life and sacrifice of the two Shahibzaads, Zorawar Singh and Fateh Singh. The Book Exhibition put on display prominent works exalting Sikh History and the sacrifices of the four Sahibzadas. The event was inaugurated by the commencement of the Digital exhibition launched by Principal, Dr Ajay Sharma. Exhibition was streamed through digital media across YouTube and digital screens in the College Library and IT Department of the College. Dr Ajay Sharma, spoke at length about the martyrdom of the Chaar Sahibzaadas and stated that their sacrifice sets an unmatched example of faith. /DW/
