category Regional,, tags Regional,, DW BUREAU Taking a dig at the Aam Aadmi Party-led Punjab Government s inclinations to replicate Delhi s much-hyped health model, Punjab s Leader of the Opposition (LoP), Partap Singh Bajwa on Saturday said that the AAP government in Punjab seems to have been in no mood to develop the basic health infrastructure. Senior Congress Leader, Bajwa said that against the requirement of Rs 500 crore to fill infrastructural gaps in secondary-level healthcare institutes in the state, Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann-led AAP government had proposed an outlay of Rs 39 crore in the 2023-24 budget. While referring to a news report, Bajwa said that the aforementioned sum was required to upgrade the infrastructure of district-level hospitals, sub-divisional hospitals and community health centres in the state. The bubble of Delhi s uncompetitive health model has been already been burst several times previously. But this has hit a new low. The AAP govt has completely messed up with the health services in the state. This instance demonstrates how hollow the AAP govt is to uplift health-related infrastructure , LoP added. Bajwa went on to say that they have not done anything so far and they seem to have no roadmap to develop the basic health infrastructure in the state. Their only motive was to rename the health institutes in the state after their party and publicize themselves with CM Bhagwant Mann s images on the boards. (editor dailyworld.in)
