DW BUREAU / Chandigarh Chandigarh reported 98 new positive cases of COVID-19 on Saturday taking the tally of confirmed positive cases to 17926. Two more deaths due to COVID-19 have also been reported in the city which took the death toll due to COVID-19 to 289. At present, there are 883 active cases in the city. The new cases have also been reported from Sectors 2, 7, 9, 14, 15, 16, 22, 23, 27, 28, 34, 38, Daria and Dhanas. A total of 141 patients have been discharged taking the tally of cured patients to 16754 in the city. Panchkula reported 78 new positive cases of COVID-19 on Saturday. The new cases took the tally to 9045. Till date, 131 deaths due to COVID-19 have been reported in the district. At present, there are 511 active cases in the district. The new cases have also been reported from Amravati Enclave, Kalka, Pinjore and Saketri. A total of 8403 patients have been discharged in the district after they successfully recovered from the infection. Mohali reported 100 new positive cases of COVID-19 on Saturday. The new cases have taken the tally of confirmed positive cases to 16168 with 2256 active cases reported in the district.Two more patients succumbed to the infection in the district. The new cases have also been reported from Kharar, Kurali, Mohali Urban and DeraBassi. A total of 122 patients have been discharged taking the tally of recovered patients to 13622 in the district. Till date, 290 deaths due to COVID-19 have been reported in the district. India's COVID-19 caseload rose to 96.08 lakh with 36,652 new cases in a day, while 90,58,822 people have recuperated from the disease so far pushing the national recovery rate to 94.28 per cent on Saturday, according to the Union Health Ministry data. The total coronavirus cases mounted to 96,08,211 and the death toll climbed to 1,39,700 with the coronavirus claiming 512 lives in a span of 24 hours in the country, the data updated at 8 am showed. The COVID-19 case fatality rate was recorded at 1.45 per cent. There are 4,09,689 active cases of coronavirus infection in the country which comprises 4.26 per cent of the total caseload, the data stated. (editor@dailyworld.in)
