93600 candidates appearing in State Prelims of HCS: CS

Br) and other Allied Services preliminary examination on May 21, in which 93600 aspirants are appearing. He said that Coaching Centers and Photostat shops surrounding the examination centers should be closed during the examination to prevent any unfair means. The Chief Secretary presided over the virtual meeting regarding the arrangements of examination, with Deputy Commissioners and Superintendents of Police of six districts here today. The Chief Secretary also directed the officers to make necessary arrangements for conducting the preliminary examination of the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) to be held on May 28. About 148 examination centers have been set up in Faridabad and Gurugram districts for UPSC examination, he added. Kaushal informed that about 11736 aspirants are appearing in 41 examination centres set up in Ambala district, 24009 candidates in 89 examination centres set up in Faridabad district, 22272 candidates in 83 examination centres in Gurugram district, 14667 candidates in 47 examination centres set up in Karnal district. Similarly, 10920 candidates in 42 examination centres in Kurukshetra and 10056 candidates will appear in 39 examination centers in Panchkula. The Chief Secretary informed that the two nodal officers and coordinators have been appointed in each district for conducting the preliminary examination. The Deputy Commissioner of the concerned district will be the overall in-charge for the examination and will also ensure arrangements for electricity, water and ambulance services during emergency situations at the district headquarter level in all the examination centres. He directed the Deputy Commissioners to impose Section-144 of the Code of Criminal Procedure (CrPC) around all centers in the respective districts to prevent gathering and curb cheating in the test.
