4,000 new play schools to be opened: Aseem

Haryana Women and Child Development Minister Aseem Goel said that following the success of the first phase where 4,000 playschools were opened, an additional 4,000 playschools to be opened in the state for the second phase.
The main objective of opening these play schools is to provide free and high-quality pre-school education to all children in Haryana.
He stated that to ensure the best development and proper care for children aged three to six, the Haryana government decided in 2020 to upgrade 4,000 Anganwadi centres to play schools under the National Education Policy 2020.
The government has been working swiftly to provide high-quality pre-school education through play. He said that these playschools, run by the Women and Child Development Department, are made vibrant and attractive looking so that children naturally want to attend school and the aim is to provide fundamental skills in a joyful environment, to prepare children for primary education.
Regarding the implementation of the play school plan, Sh. Goel stated that in the first phase, a State Resource Group was formed with the support of the "Pratham Sanstha". This group included one Child Development Project Officer, one Education Department spokesperson, and two supervisors from each district.
This team was first trained to conduct practice classes and then trained at the next level. In the second phase, all Child Development Project Officers and supervisors in Haryana were trained.
