Srinagar, April 7 : Authorities on Tuesday shifted former Jammu and Kashmir chief minister, Mehbooba Mufti to her official residence in the high security Gupkar Road in Srinagar. Official sources said Mehbooba Mufti was shifted to her Gupkar Road official residence on Tuesday, adding that her detention will continue. Mufti was detained on August 5 last year after article 370 was abrogated and the state downgraded to the status of a union territory. She was first taken into preventive detention and later booked under the stringent public safety act (PSA). She was initially kept at the Hari Niwas guesthouse in Srinagar and later shifted to a tourism department hut in the Chashma Shahi area. From there she was shifted to a government quarter in the transport yard lane in Srinagar. There is no official word on whether the decision to shift her to her official residence on the Gupkar Road is a prelude to her being set free. /IANS
